Consign With Love
Everything Blades can help you sell your blades.
Are you a blade maker, a collector or have you have been the lucky beneficiary of an inherited blade collection? Do you have blade items you want to sell? If you answer yes to the above then EverythingBlades.com is the website for you. Whether it be knives, swords, axes, scissors or any other type blade Everything Blades can help.
Why EverytingBlades.com
1. We are not greedy. Unlike other sites that charge 25+% or more we feel a fair consignment rate is 20% on items ranging from $60-$500. Items over $500 the rate is just 15%.
2. You can sell elsewhere also. Unlike many services that limit your rights to sell elsewhere, we do not. Should you sell your item elsewhere we will even be happy to completely handle the shipping for you. In such instances charge a base $40 listing fee or the equivalent to the original consignment fee whichever is less plus honest shipping and $1 for packing material.
3. We handle knives valued as little as $60.
4. When shipping an item for you we only charge your account for the actual shipping cost plus $1 for shipping material. No shell games here unlike others who try to hide extra profits in their shipping costs.
5. We develop a full marketing plan to help you sell. This includes a written description as well as up to 4 images. If you would like additional images included, video or 360º interactive photos we can take care of this as well for a small fee based on the job.
6. When we create media we also provide you a full set of copies with full copyright release.
7. We focus on everything blades. This means a listing through our site is geared to a very specific audience. This laser focus helps insure your items not only sell in a reasonable time but also at a fair price.
8. You set the start price if you wish or we can do a fair market analysis for you.

Keeping vs. Sending
We have two options to help in your consignment.
1. Send items to us
a. Items with a sale value of at least $200 sent to us will be cataloged, an enhanced description written and 4 high quality images taken to help in the sale of your items. If under $200 in value the item will be given a basic description and 1 high quality image taken.
b. Upon sale we will take care of all shipping and accounting and mail you your portion of the proceeds at the time of escrow expiration (2 weeks).
c. If additional media is desired this can be created on request for a small fee. Additional media options include 360° view, additional images and demo video. For high end items additional media is encouraged as this often times makes a difference as to how long it takes to sell an item as well as helps add perceived value in the prospect customers mind.
2. Keep the items
a. If choosing to keep an item it will be up to you to send us a minimum of 4 images, a written description of a minimum of 100 words and any other supporting media you wish to provide.
b. Once the item is sold you will be responsible for shipping.
c. Once confirmation of customer receipt is provided upon expiration of the escrow period (2 weeks) a payment will be issued minus the consignment fee.
Selling your own blades after they have been listed.
At EverythingBlades.com we do not restrict your sale through our site directly. While it is highly advised you let us handle the selling details we realize that some owners like to list their items on other sites, may wish to sell at an event or may otherwise dispose of their item. If you sell your item we charge a base $40 listing fee or the equivalent to the original consignment fee whichever is less.
In the event you sell your item but have chosen to send your item to us you will have two options. 1. We can drop ship directly to the customer by you providing us their contact information. 2. We can send back your item(s) to you for you to handle the shipping to the customer. We encourage option 1 to make things as easy, cost effective and efficient as possible. Whether you choose option 1 or option 2 an additional fee equivalent to the exact shipping will be assessed to cover shipping plus $1 to cover shipping material.
Blade Shipping
When shipping your knives to us it is critical that you provide us your complete contact details including name, address, email & phone number. It is additionally encouraged you provide us an additional phone and email if available.
Make sure when shipping you either include or have provided additional information relevant to each blade being sold. This should include blade model, maker, handle material, blade steel, and any other important notes to aid in research and value assessment.
Glass
cases are not encouraged to be shipped unless they are a part of the original
product/packaging. When shipping glass please take an overabundance of
caution.
By using EverythingBlades.com you agree and understand that EverythinBlades.com is not responsible for any damage received in the shipping process.
When
shipping your blades first insure they are clean. At EverythingBlades.com we do
not have the time or inclination to clean your blades for you. In the buyer’s
mind dirty blades are cheap blades so help us help you by sending them
clean.
Insure all blades being shipped are secured individually. If in a wooden box please insure the blade is also padded inside the case. Blades should never be packaged where they are loose or able to rub against one another. Nothing helps kill value like damage.
When available all original material to the blade should be provided. Like other collectibles having the original box, maker documentation, etc. will help add value.
Select a shipping box that has plenty of room to securely pack everything without risk of damage is critical. When packing, the item should be completely surrounded by soft packing material.
It is critical to pack correctly. Over-packed boxes faces numerous dangers to damage such as additional friction exposure, potential of box breakthrough and greater risk of dropping.
All blades should be secured in their sheath or case. If a sheath or case is not being provided please make sure to wrap the blade on each side with a piece of cardboard longer than the blade itself and then securely taped to prevent release. Items additionally should each be individually foam or bubble wrapped.
Pricing and valuation
As the seller you have the initial say in pricing. We will honor your requested pricing as long as it is not obviously way off base from what the market would expect.
Each 90 days the item will be reduced in cost by 5% until it sales.
Should your items fall below our base $60 value point you will be notified and will have the option to have the items returned, donated or bundled with other items to help improve their desirability.
Descriptions
It is critical that when providing items for sale you provide us as much detail as possible. The details you provide will help us write a more robust description and thus aid in the sale of your items. It cannot be overstated the importance of good description data. Help us help you.
Getting paid
Once confirmation of receipt is provided upon expiration of the escrow period (2 weeks) a payment will be issued minus the consignment fee.
Payments will be sent via online transfer when possible. If a check is preferred one can be cut but will incur an extra processing fee of $5 to cover administrative costs, postage, etc.
Layaway
Yes we can do layaway at the seller’s discretion but only for in-stock items. Unfortunately we cannot offer the convenience of layaway for seller kept items listed for sale. Terms for layaway are 20% down paid by the buyer with balance due in 120 days. Should the balance not be paid within the expected time a full refund minus a 25% market removal fee will be available upon request within 30 days. Each 30 days thereafter the fee goes up an additional 25%. At any point during this period the balance may be paid in full.
Should a market removal fee be charged the seller will receive 50% of the assessed fee at the end of the layaway period and will have the option of relisting their item at no additional cost.
Damage and Degradation
Metal rusts, wood dries and degradation happens. This is why it is critical that when sending us blades to be listed that you insure they are well preserved using proper preservation techniques. While we do maintain a well-regulated environmentally controlled and secured facility we are not liable for damages. Take the time to secure your investment by making sure it received the proper preservation treatment before being sent.
On The Move?
It
is critical that you make sure your contact information on file is up to date
and accurate at all times. We cannot chase you. Should your items sell but your
contact information has lapsed we will hold your funds in escrow for a period of
6 months at which time they will be forfeited. During this period we will
attempt to contact you 3 times. At all points that we hold merchandise it is the
seller’s responsibility to maintain their contact information and communications
with us.
