The Model 550HG Benchmade Griptilian Satin Hollow Ground Folding Knife is outfitted with 3.45" 154CM Satin Sheepsfoot Blade. Benchmade's 550HG features their famous AXIS Locking Mechanism, a very positive lock with a spring loaded sliding thumb stud that locks the blade open. True to its name the 550HG Griptilian's handle is made of Valox which is a lightweight yet tough plastic kind of material. The handle is comfortable and provides a solid grip with its extremely deep checkering on both sides.  Inside the handle there are two 420J stainless steel liners for added strength and support.
